Series of online conferences dedicated to the gender aspects of water management in Central Asia and Afghanistan
Water resources are one of the main factors of economic development in the Central Asian region, significantly affected by climate change at different levels. Despite the recognition of the role of women in water management, the introduction of methods and strategies to overcome gender and, not only, barriers to women’s equal participation remains unclear. Therefore, a gender perspective in water management becomes especially important in a situation where water is becoming less and competition among users is growing. The purpose of the events is to provide opportunities for young scientists, researchers, international and regional experts, students, etc. to discuss key gender issues in the field of water resources and to promote the development of local community capacities.
