Online training ‘Assessing knowledge online’ delivered under the CAWEP Central Asia Knowledge Network (CA KN) program for the Central Asian academic community on May 19, 2020.

The coronavirus pandemic and the associated transition to distance learning pose new challenges for teachers, including how to effectively evaluate students’ knowledge online.

Dr Vitaly Nagornov, Senior Researcher, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), delivered an online training conducting online exams, interviews and other assessment activities on May 19, 2020 as part of the work with the Central Asia Academic Network.

The online event brought together over 30 academics from 5 Central Asian countries. The CA KN expert focused on the following issues: assessment of knowledge in an online format, guidelines for preparation and conduction of the online exam.

The training participants also learned on proctor services, an algorithm for conducting an online exam and how to effectively evaluate students’ knowledge online.
