Water resources are one of the main factors of economic development in the Central Asian region, significantly affected by climate change at different levels. Despite the recognition of the role of women in water management, the introduction of methods and strategies to overcome gender and, not only, barriers to women’s equal participation remains unclear. Therefore, a gender perspective in water management becomes especially important in a situation where water is becoming less and competition among users is growing.

This online conference is the third conference in a series of similar events dedicated to the gender aspects of water management in Central Asia and Afghanistan, which are held from November 2019 to May 2020.

The purpose of the events is to provide opportunities for young scientists, researchers, international and regional experts, students, etc. to discuss key gender issues in the field of water resources and to promote the development of local community capacities.

Extended abstracts and articles submitted by conference participants will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be published at the end of the events series. The proceedings and conference materials (as webinars) will be available online at: https://cakn.online/en/.

We will be glad to see you among the participants of the second online conference “Women, Water and Health”.
